Welcome back! This lesson is just for the Hunters. I will do a lesson based on each class and subclass at a later time. Be on the lookout! Let’s get into this though
GUNSLINGER
I’ll show you a couple of wise build choices for the Gunslinger. This is a powerful PVP class. Note, for all builds, the jump is whichever you prefer, but I tend to go for better control, since you are more mobile in mid air.
SOLO BUILD (PERSONAL FAVORITE) - The Knive Thrower & Mine Placer!
- This build is paired best with these exotics; The Monte Carlo and the Young Ahamkara's Spine.
- Focus on Discipline & Strength.
- Use any special or heavy you want, special weapon shouldn’t be used anyway.
The entire objective of this build is to consistently kill using knives and trip mines. This is also an optimal rumble/solo play build. You will use the scavenge perk to give yourself a boost every time you pick up ANY ammo. Some think this isn’t vital in PVP, but believe me that can be a big difference when you are able to carry two knives and two tripmines. The extended duration of trip mines means you could throw them in high traffic areas constantly and enemies don’t need to be there. Surprise kills will happen often, even when you aren’t around. The Monte Carlo will assist in keeping your knives on you the ENTIRE time. If you do this correctly, you will actually have VERY few kills with the Monte Carlo. Just put a few rounds in the enemy to weaken them and Toss one at their face and you’ll be cruising. Your golden gun will be charging at its fastest pace, so use it as soon as you can!
SUPPORT - The Gunner!
- This build is paired best with these exotics; Achlyophage Symbiote or Knucklehead Radar
- Focus on Intellect and Discipline.
- Use accurate weapons. Snipers and Machine Guns are recommended optional weapons.
- Tripmine Grenade can be used as well, but I find they are better for traps and not map control.
This build is very basic for map control and best for very accurate shooters, but has the potential for a lot of fun when it comes time for your super (depending on your exotic helmet). Use this build in a team format. Your setup so you can deal ongoing damage to an enemy and keep track of where they are. The Knucklehead Radar is going to keep your radar up whenever you use your primary, so you can know where they are coming at you from. Now you can use your grenade to eliminate an area for them to run to. Use your map knowledge to always position yourself where the enemy only has a couple of choices where to run. Once you’ve taken out one area, they are forced the opposite direction. Get some good headshots and improve your handling and reload on all weapons. This is a patient build at the same time, don’t be too aggressive and play into your build. Once you get your super, look for groups. Combustion is great when you have the Achlyophage Symbiote, as you have 4 shots and could potentially kill a few enemies with one shot. If you are running the Knucklehead Radar, go with the Gunfighter perk so you can use your golden gun more often.
If anyone has any other suggestions for Gunslinger builds or questions, let us know!
