SUNSINGER
There are two different ways to go with this build. One is vital for trials and elimination, the other is very all-purpose. Let’s discuss.
TRIALS ONLY - The Fireborn!
- Best paired with these exotics; Red Death and Voidfang Vestments, or MIDA Multi-Tool (when year 2 version drops) and Light Beyond Nemesis.
- Focus on Intellect above all else. If using Voidfang Vestments, then focus on Strength next. If using Light Beyond Nemesis, focus on Discipline.
- Use close range weapons with Voidfang build, use ranged weapons with the Light Beyond build. Always go with a Grenades and Horseshoes Rocket Launcher or Truth.
- Also, use the “Gift of the Sun” perk with the Light Beyond Nemesis to aid with Grenade shortage.
This is a unique build, since your exotic armor dictates your gameplay. Voidfang allows you to play more aggressively and you have the freedom to toss those awesome firebolt grenades. They will catch the enemy on fire and you’ll be able to track their movements as they run frantically. After each round, you’ll be getting those grenades back. It is a MUST that you use them! If you get killed, use your radiance to come back to life at an opportune time, as that could be the difference between winning a match! Use your melee and keep that overshield active!
Using the Light Beyond Nemesis changes your playstyle a bit, as you are primarily support now. Keep ranged, snipe, and toss grenades as needed. Gift of the Sun gives you a second grenade to assist you. Play smart and if someone closes on you, melee and get that overshield and hope you can use that edge to take them out. Constant communication is the key!
SUPPORT - Praise the Sun!
- Best paired with this exotic; Heart of the Praxic Fire.
- Focus on Discipline, then Intellect.
- Any weapon combinations you prefer work well with this build.
The goal of this build is to get your super and use it on choke points on the map. Solar grenades are great for map control and if you are constantly tossing them, you can funnel multiple enemies towards an area where your teammates are. This may sound odd, but don’t play too close to your team, but know where they are. That is how this will work. You’ll have enough in this build to keep grenades active the majority of the time. Engage enemies in a tactical manner, and make sure you play around corners more often to draw them near. When they get close, Scorch them for a bonus shield and finish them off!
